COPENHAGEN – Where to Drop by
Since the North is famous for their style, Copenhagen is not being left out of it. Just sitting in a café and watching cyclers pass by (not pedestrians, cause literally everyone moves around by bike) is an attraction by itself. The girls with their silky hair, without much make-up on and mostly in sneaks and a dress or other carefully combined pieces, while the boys mostly go with white sneakers and some shades of grey, both either sporty or minimalistic chic. You’ll never see a cheasy miniskirt or extra-high heels jiggling around the streets. More and more the style in Copenhagen is being known as playful combinations where boring rules are being broken such as a dress goes only with heels. Its more a mix and match, styling your favorite new pieces together, be bold and blur the lines between men and womenswear.
Where to Shop
Since Copenhagen has plenty of local brands to offer you can buy the danish style firsthand in store. Some of the rising stars amongst the fashion scene is for sure Rotate, muf10, Won Hundred when Ganni, Filipa K, Norse, Samsoe Samsoe, Wood Wood and Saks Potts already have made it.

The Danes are pretty forward thinking, so the secondhand culture is already widely spreaded. When you only find Zara and H&M in most of our thrift shops you’ll find gems such as Acne, Ganni, Lewis easily at shops like 2nd Rag, Prag and Episode. Make sure to stop by some outlets aswell like Acne Archiv and Ganni Postmodern.
Other than that you’ll find treasures at Lot29, Storm and the central shopping malls Magasin and Illum.
Where to Visit
Make sure to drop by Posterland, since they have lovely city maps portrait painted by local artists, which makes a perfect souvenir. Since everyone gets addicted to their brown rye bred you might as well visit a local bakery to carry one home with you, so you still get those smorrebrod for breakfast once you’re back. Therefore you can pass by any Lagkagehuset you see.

There are several parks in Copenhagen which you easily reach by bike. Speaking of … first thing to do once you get there is to make sure you have a bike, weather from a local renter or directly from your hotel. There is one beautiful park up in Frederiksberg called Frederiksberg Gardens, the central King’s Garden and my favorite one, although it sounds spooky, the Assistens Cemetery further above the lakes. People hang out there, drink beer or have picnics with their families. A beautiful allée leads you trough the park and directly to the exit which furthermore leads into a quiet street called Jægersborggade full of lovely little shops.
Other than that you need to check out the Nyhavn area where all the postcards and pictures are made of. It really has its magic to walk trough it, watch the sunrise before all the tourists show up. Then ride over the bridge to Christianshavn and take a walk there or along the river or take a route north which leads you to the famous lakes of Copenhagen, which are beautiful to have a stroll or a coffee break.
Last but not least make sure to drop by Kunsthal Charlottenborg, an art museum right next to the harbor and worth a visit. Even the building and the cafe apollo bar are an eye-catcher itself.
